Its 5am again

Its 5am again. But this time in London.

Actually its 7am now because I have read a little of my book, googled a few things, had a shower, gone for a walk to find the only cafĂ©(French) that's open at 6.30am (thanks Google) and here we are.

We travelled all day yesterday, arriving to a beautiful and super hot afternoon in London. On one side of where we are staying is the plush and rarefied borough of Chelsea and Kensington- we walked through leafy streets filled with gorgeous houses and foreign nannies, through Notting Hill and up to Westbourne Grove: high end shops, great eateries and Sienna Miller walking with her daughter- I kid you not.
On the other side, we are 3 minutes away from White City- the largest Westfield in London  and the transport mega hub of Shepherds Bush. Equally gorgeous in its crazy, busy, modern, multicultural mad London way. Plus it has a supermarket where we picked up our London essentials: raspberries in June, wheat shreddies for Oscar and hulahoop potato rings for both of us.

So made it to the end of the Serbia vs Brazil football match at 8.45 local time. It was about 4am Tokyo time and we were done in. Looking forward to a more regular time zone for the next couple of weeks.

Hopefully off to the Victoria and Albert Museum this morning and then catching up with some friends in the next couple of days.

We owe another post on Tokyo. We had a wonderful second day.But I thought I would just check in, in case we got side tracked....

  1. You don't half pick the best places to stay!
Does London feel a bit like home? After the blare of Tokyo? And knowing your way around.
Feels like I am there reading your postcards.
    London haircut OP?

    1. Actually staying in the inner west has completely disoriented me. I really can't work out which way is which. Its driving Oscar nuts. This is also the first trip that Oscar is fully in charge of navigating so that makes it worse because I don't need to know where I am going and better cos I don't need to know where I am going.
Ps Oscar is missing his clippers but his pre trip shave is lasting well.
